A Magical Journey to Ensenada

The 2000-passenger ship, a complete delight to look at from afar, was legendary even from within, with the classic comfort and elegance of its grandeur interiors and services designed exclusively to impress one and all. From the very entry of the ship, when all the excitement set in, passengers were greeted by the warm and friendly cruise staff, who made sure that guests received the mandated safety briefing, and were then escorted to the main deck via the splendid elevators and staircases on either side.

The Carnival Imagination can truly impress in more ways than one can possibly think of, and I simply could not get enough of the experience and the amazing memories that came with it.

As captain Pierluigi Lanaro gradually steered the ship off the coast of Los Angeles, we eagerly prepared ourselves to head for our much awaited intimate fine dining experience. Subtle background music, the sound of chitter-chatter of fellow enthusiastic travelers, and warm hospitality awaited us at the table, as we dived into a stunning mix of entrees, main course, sides and desserts, all served along with a bottle of aromatic red wine.

Food is an absolute delight on the cruise and there are amazing gourmet style lunch and dining options available both indoors and outdoors. And to keep you coming back for more, are the enthusiastic photographers capturing your romantic experiences while sharing a meal or two with your loved ones.

Carnival Imagination makes sure that onboard the ship, the fun always lasts long. A well-designed casino offering games such as Texas Hold ‘Em poker, Blackjack and other trendy variants are located on the two-story Dynasty Lounge. The casino also holds fun contests such as Hit The Jackpot challenge- Ultimate Slot Tournament and Blackjack Tournament. Daytime activities include health programs, towel folding fun, chocolate extravaganza, shopping, art auctions, live musical performances with great artistes, karaoke party, a fun DJ party by the pool and a relaxing spa experience. In the evening, one can indulge in the epic rock and piano performances; adults only standup comedy by well-known performers or shake a leg at the nightclubs. Also, the Dream Bar, a piano bar, Shangri La and Illusions Dance Club attract huge crowds when the sun goes down.

But wait, there is more, golfers don't have to give up the game of golf to go to sea. The upper most deck of the ship provides an excellent space for playing a number of challenging courses.

And for those who think they have been away from their computer for a while, don’t fret. There is an internet setup on Empress Deck across from the Atrium Bar and near the Shore Excursions Desk which allows you to surf for as long as you want. Rates are fair and Wi-Fi hotspots are available around the ship.

The two-day cruise arrives at Ensenada, Mexico on day one and lets you explore the city until evening. As guests disembark the ship, they are greeted by women dressed in traditional Mexican outfits offering a fun session of photographs. Ensenada is an idyllic place for travelers who are willing to experience everything from a picturesque wine country to the water activities and beach life. You can even purchase the home brewed Tequila that Mexico is so famous for from downtown and shop for colorful hats, leather items, beachwear etc from street vendors at a bargain.

Ensenada is also home to one of the largest geysers in the world. La Bufadora Geyser is a scenic marine geyser which results due to the ocean waves crashing into an underwater cavern. The street leading to the viewpoint provides excellent Mexican cuisine and shopping opportunities for souvenirs and other Mexican delicacies.

If you are travelling from California, you might think that Napa Valley is the only reputable wine country on the West Coast, but you may be surprised to learn that Ensenada produces delectable wine through more than two dozen wineries located in the area. This region has the perfect climate for growing delicious grapes.

Ensenada also offers outstanding outdoor activities along its miles of white sand along the ocean. Kayaking and scuba diving are among the most popular activities one can indulge into; or just a take a dip into the ocean waters to enjoy a much needed respite from the warm weather of Mexico.

All in all, the Carnival Imagination does provide an unforgettable experience and creates everlasting memories on both, the waters as well as dry land.
